Mary Ann Breedlove, 76 of Sharpsville died at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo.
She was born in Tipton on February 18, 1943 to Reid & Lovie Ree (Spears) Rush. She married Charles James Breedlove on February 8, 1970 and he survives.

Mary Ann was a housewife and a political volunteer. She had served as the Secretary of the Tipton County Republican Central Committee, Precinct Committeeperson and held several offices in the Republican Women’s Committee. Mary Ann was a member of Jerome Christian Church. She had attended Indiana Business College and volunteered at Tri-Central Elementary School with art work. She was the Liberty Township Tax Assessor for 19 years.

Her many hobbies included fishing and working crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader, wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a fan of Butler and Purdue basketball, the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors besides her husband Jim include her two children, Mary Catherine Sevier and husband Will, Sharpsville and James Glen Breedlove, Windfall; one brother and two sisters, Leland Rush, Kokomo, Margie McCullough and husband Buck, Sharpsville and Norma Netherton and husband Larry, Windfall; one granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Breedlove.

Mary Ann’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David Stokes presiding. Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s honor may be made to Grundy’s Mountain Mission School, 1760 Edgewater Drive, Grundy, Virginia, 24614. https://mmskids.org

  3. I’ve lost a very good friend that I haven’t seen in quite a while, but have been thinking of her often. I will always remember the great times we had. So sorry for your loss Jim, Kate and Bunk. Love you all. I’m deeply sorry for your loss. The world lost a great comedian and friend. I will always remember her with laughter!
