Max E. Harrell, 87 of Windfall died at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at North Woods Village in Kokomo.  Max was born on January 3, 1931 in Windfall to Russell R. & G. Garnell (Smith) Harrell.  On September 11, 1959 he married Carolyn Sue Mitchell and she survives.

Max retired from Haynes International in Kokomo, formerly Cabot Corporation and Stellite, where he was a steelworker in the plant.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and a graduate of Union High School in Howard County, Class of 1949.

Survivors include his wife Sue and one son Russell Eugene Harrell, Tipton.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Belinda Harrell, one sister, Della Jane Holder and one brother, Russell R. Harrell, Jr.

Graveside services for Max will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, July 26 at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall with Rev. Carl Roudebush presiding and burial to follow.  Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton.

    So sorry for your loss Sue. I remember both you and Max from my Sloan’s Pure Oil days. Max was a great guy and always smiling.
