Peggy J. Tishner, 82 of Tipton died at her residence on Tuesday September 7, 2021.  She was born in Tipton on June 20, 1939 to George W. and Eva Mae (Day) Tishner.

Peggy was very active around the community as she worked at several businesses.  People would remember her at Hooks Drug Store, Danners, Excello, Quickway and most recently helping her son with his sign business.

She enjoyed activities at the Encore Senior Center, playing cards and watching many sporting events on television.  Peggy was a member of the American Legion.  Friends and family were always important to Peggy; she had many precious moments with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Brian Tishner and wife Marsi of Elwood, and Brett Tishner and significant other Lisa Merida of Tipton.  Grandchildren include Nikki (Josh) Myrick, Casey Tishner, James Tishner, Lindsey Herron, Erika (Jeff) McQuinn, Marcus (Kelly) Tishner and a step grandson Thomas (Abbi) Heater.  Peggy has 12 great-grandchildren, Eli, Chase, Maslow, Murphy, Trey, Maylee, Kassidy, Kennidy, Kole, Karsyn, Gracie and Elaina. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Adrienne Tishner.

She was preceded in death by siblings Mary Tishner, Martha Tindal, George Tishner, Jeanie Tishner, Lucille Tishner, Betty Hause, Helen Moore, Robert (Bob) Tishner, Patti Lukens, Jim Tishner, and Jerry Tishner.

Memorial donations may be made to the Encore Senior Center, 900 East Jefferson Street Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

No services are planned.  Burial will occur at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

  1. My sincere condolences to the family. I’ve known Peggy for many years. We worked together at “Quik Way” for about 3 years together. She never forgot who I was, and was always so kind to me. I will miss running into her in the store’s and talking about those days. ❤️

  3. Brett, I wanted to offer you my deepest condolences on the passing of your Mom. I didn’t know Peggy for very long, but in the short time that I did, she was very kind. There were a few occasions where she would contact me by phone and ask me to to take her to the store or something, while you were at work. She told me that she went to school with my mother and knew her very well. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you during this difficult time and the days ahead.

  6. I was so sorry to learn of Peggy’s passing and wanted to extend my condolences to the family. My oldest two children attended school at the same time as hers and that is how I met Peggy. I would also see her through the years out in public at her various places of employment. She was very well-liked by all who knew her and she will be missed. R.I.P. Peggy, we will miss your smile.
