Phyllis Maxine (Kiser) Orr, 92, died at 3:25 pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at Century Villa, Greentown after a long illness. Born Aug. 28, 1920 she was the first child of Nelson and Pansy (Barr) Kiser of Marion, Indiana. She married Robert C. Orr on August 16, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2012. Their farm home was west of Windfall, Indiana.

She graduated from Marion High School in 1938. Following her completion of Indiana Business College course of study, she worked as secretary for many years at the Anaconda Wire & Cable, G.M. Fisher Body, and C&O Railway.

She was a member of the Windfall Christian Church. Phyllis enjoyed being with her lady friends at Red Hat meetings, Winona Lake Women retreats, traveling in some IWU chaparrals, and a Caribbean Cruise. She also enjoyed her tours to Israel, Switzerland, England and Germany.

Phyllis loved to entertain and she sat family and friends down to beautiful tables with her cooking and hospitality. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are a brother, Bob Kiser, Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Norma Zent, Marion; several nieces and nephews, Dr. Don A. (Roberta) Zent, Wilmore, Kentucky, Beverly (Mark) Sheridan, Kokomo, Mary Ellen Zent, Kokomo, Ruth Ann Zent, MD (Aucha Kameroff), Kotzebue, Alaska, Carol Zent, Kokomo, Jane (Bill) Steadman, Carrollton, Texas, Kurt Kiser, Lubbock, Texas, and Karl Kiser, Euless, Texas; step-grandsons, Tim (Michelle) Orr, Columbus, Shannon Orr, Terre Haute; two step-great-grandchildren, Shae Orr and Faith Orr. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Michael Glenn Orr.

Phyllis’ funeral will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 21 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Carl Roudebush officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
