Raymond Keith “Doc” Kincaid, M.D., 93 of Noblesville and formerly of Tipton, died at 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1922 in Boone County, Indiana to Jacob L. & Genoa Isabel (Edwards) Kincaid. He married Caroline Sullivan on January 12, 1980 and she survives.

Doc was a graduate of Whitestown High School. He graduated from Wabash College and then served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war Doc attended Indiana University, earning his Masters in Physiology. He then entered the Indiana University School of Medicine graduating in 1953. He served on the Hamilton County Health Board for 23 years. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Flying Physicians Association.

His many accomplishments included joining other area doctors in his medical career at the Tipton Clinic and giving the first polio vaccines to every first and second grader in Tipton County. He was an early advocate and educator for yearly breast cancer screenings and mammograms. He witnessed many technological innovations during his career including the wide-spread introduction of a new antibiotic called penicillin and the use of fetal heart monitors at Tipton County Memorial Hospital. He attended the delivery of more than 3500 infants.

Doc was a lifetime mason at the Boone Lodge #9 in Lebanon. He belonged to the Tipton Elks, Tipton Moose, Tipton American Legion, Hobbs Christian Church and Tipton Rotary Club. He was a founding member of the “Bitch and Moan” club.

Survivors besides his wife Caroline include his children, Cynthia Kincaid, Washington, D.C., Suzanne Helmick and husband Patrick, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Barbara Kincaid, Washington, D.C., Robert Richardson, Lori Peachey and husband Steven, Cicero. Doc is also survived by one brother, Lowell Kincaid and wife Rose, Bunkie, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Bryan Richardson and wife Julie, Andrew Richardson and wife Cameran, Dana Kincaid, Christian Travis and husband Ilie, Taryn Kincaid, Steven Peachey and wife Jessica, Aaron Richardson and wife Sarah and Whitney Kincaid and fiancé Ryan Strasser; 10 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Kincaid, Logansport.

Doc was preceded in death by two sons, Keith Kincaid and Jeffrey Richardson and one sister, Elizabeth Kincaid.

The funeral service for Doc Kincaid will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Andrea Leininger presiding. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Arcadia. Visitation will be from 2:00–7:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
