Rosemary Louise Comer, 95 of Tipton died at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born in Tipton on February 14, 1924 to Clarence Raymond & Mary Gertrude (Lawhorn) Ripberger.  Rosemary married Robert H. Comer on June 22, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1992.

Rosemary had worked in the cafeteria at Lincoln School.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society.  She had belonged to the Tipton County Historical Society and Plum Grove Home Ec Club.

Survivors include her three children, Michael Comer and wife Wilma, Plainfield, Sharon Pennock and husband Gary, Tipton and Pat Comer and wife Cheryl, Tipton; one sister, Betty Hawkins, Tipton; eight grandchildren, Lisa Myers, Scott Comer, Aaron Pennock, Ryan Pennock, Nick Comer, Chad Comer, Kyle Comer and Courtney Watts; 15 great-grandchildren, Cameron Myers, Gavin Myers, Cole Comer, Isabella Comer, Riley Pennock, Alexander Pennock, Violet Pennock, Roman Pennock, Makenna Comer, Macie Comer, Eden Comer, Adelyn Comer, Levi Comer, Paisley Comer, and Preston Comer.

Rosemary was preceded in death by one sister, Madonna “Donnie” Myers and four brothers, Raymond “Bud” Ripberger, Jim Ripberger, Pat Ripberger and Richard Ripberger.

A funeral mass for Rosemary will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding and burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Rosemary’s memory may be made to the Building Fund at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 335 Mill Street, Tipton, Indiana 46072 or Tipton County Historical Society, 323 W. South Street, Tipton, Indiana 46072.
