Corey Wayne Kennedy, 52 of Tipton died Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Anderson.  He was born in Kokomo on November 25, 1970 to Kenneth Wayne Kennedy and Patricia Lou (Twilling) Leisure.

Corey was a 1990 graduate of Tipton High School.  He had many activities that he enjoyed.  He was an avid sports fan, watching wrestling, and NASCAR were frequent weekend musts.  He loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and rooted for them at every opportunity and was known to pull for the Indiana University Hoosiers on many occasions.  Corey grew up as a Pittsburg Steelers fan watching Bettis run over the opponents.  He had a great affection for motorcycles and was a gun enthusiast.  Mostly, he would love to just be hanging with his friends.

Survivors include his step mother, Michele (Patrick) Wood, sons Noah and Dylan Kennedy, siblings Tim Pore and wife Tamara, Lori Pore Berg and husband Larry, Kara Kennedy and significant other Tom Dixon and Elizabeth Disney and husband Brian.  Corey has many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday May 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.  The family will lead the service.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until service time.

The funeral service will be recorded and a link for viewing will be posted on Corey’s obituary page on Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made at the funeral home or on Corey’s GoFundMe page to assist the family with various expenses.

    Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Tom Piatko loved you so much, Corey Wayne Kennedy. You always had such a sweet smile and were always a wonderful nephew to be around. Until we meet again, give them all a hug and kiss for me.

    Cory was a sweet man . He will be missed a lot . I did not know Cory for very long I’m glad I got to meet him . He was a fighter . God be with him now no more pain. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
