Sally A. Teter, 85 of Goldsmith, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Westfield. She was born on September 1, 1938 in Mulvane, Kansas to Clifford L. and Alice E. (Young) Britton. Her husband of 57 years, Jack O. Teter, preceded her in death on June 2, 2014.

Sally was a devoted member of the Tetersburg Christian Church for over 50 years where she played organ, sang in the choir, and served as church treasurer. She was a homemaker, served for many years as the Activity Director at Miller’s Merry Manor, and later worked at I.D.E.S as an Office Administrator. In her retirement she volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor where she enjoyed running the BINGO games for the residents.

Sally loved to sew. She made many of her own clothes, created dress up outfits for her grandkids, and created new doll outfits for neglected dolls she found in thrift stores. She enjoyed selling the doll clothes and refurbished dolls at craft shows with the proceeds donated to local charities.

Sally is survived by four children, Peggy Eller and husband Mike, Lebanon, Martin Teter and wife Ivy, Goldsmith, Jerry Teter and wife Dusty, Sheridan, Eric Teter and wife Christy, Carmel; her three siblings, Dale Britton, Oklahoma, Mark Britton, Ohio, and Hazel Darrow, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Kurt, Janelle, Jeff, Jeremy, Brittany, Dominic, David, Curtis, and Lynn; 15 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Paige, Alexis, Madden, Cole, Wade, Kadi, Noah, Kody, Joey, Morgan, Raelyn, Rosey, Emmit, and Charlotte. Sally was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kelsey; and two brothers, Frank Britton and Jim Britton.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 29 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home Tipton. Burial service will follow at Tetersburg Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to Jack. Friends are welcome to join the family at Legends Music Academy building in Tipton at 4:30 p.m. after the burial.

  1. I’m sorry for the loss of your mom and grandma. She was a lovely lady and I enjoyed knowing her. I worked for Dr. Tweedy and she was a regular patient. I also bought a lot of doll clothes for my grand kids. She will be missed.
