Barbara A. Wood, 60 of Flora and formerly of Tipton, died at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at North Woods Village in Kokomo.
Funeral arrangements are pending and a full obituary will be posted at a later date. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to help the Wood family.
To the family of Barbara Wood… she was my maid of honor, I was proud to call her my friend. She was a lovely spirit to be around as we grew up. I remember her love of horses, her care-free nature and the loving way she was brought up by her parents. She will be missed and never forgotten. Such a sweet, lovely friend. Hugs to all the family! I know it is a difficult thing to lose a parent. It really hurts your heart. May you find comfort in the memories you have of her. Clayton, it’s been years since I have seen you and I hope you’re doing well. Take care…

Thinking of Barb’s family during this sad time. I have many fond memories since we first met in middle school when she wanted to be called Monique. We took many trips with Marian and Marilyn to Castleton riding in their Thunderbird and always ending up at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor. I remember each Christmas when Barb would return from Pompano Beach she had the most amazing tan! From cruising to slumber parties to vacations to being on the farm in Kempton, they were fun times for our gang. May some of the memories we share bring comfort to Clayton and the family. Rest peacefully dear friend from so long ago.
My condolences to Barbara’s family. I had searched for her contract information in the past without success. She was a childhood friend and have fond memories of us riding our horses/ponies together, The last time I saw her was the brief time we both worked at Woods Wire and Clayton was a little guy.
