We have lost a spirited and beloved woman who did so much good for so many people. Mitch’ Alborn said it best when he said, “But she wasn’t around, and that’s the thing when your parents die. You feel like instead of going in to every fight with backup, you are going into every fight alone.” We will miss you dearly, Caroline.

It is with extreme sadness that we extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Carolyn J. Etchison. She was the matriarch of our Startzman-Davis families and the “poet laureate” of all things historical. Carolyn’s professional writing can be read in the volumes of books and pamphlets she wrote and in the historical story of our families that she created. Carolyn loved her God, her country and her family and fiercely defended them all. What an honor it was to have known her and how blessed we are that our memories of her will live in our hearts always. May she rest in the hands of our Lord for eternity. – The Startzman-Davis Reunion Members

Wondrful lady and family. She was very active and did a lot for the community. An open thinker. She will be deeply missed.

  4. The world lost a beautiful woman . My grandma. You were the epitome of the perfect grandma. You taught me so much during my time with you. You made sure I knew how to count change back, to put together a flower arrangement (being at the shop are some of my fondest memories), to cook, to look up genealogy (we got 1st place at State Fair!), to be an honest person, to work hard, to plant flowers, to be patient with puzzles (even how to hide the last piece 😂), and to always love others. Your great grandkids: Madi, Taylor, Kaylie, Lucy, and Grant all loved you just as much as I do. And I know how much you loved them, you could see it by the sparkle in your eyes when they were around. I can only imagine how big your smile was when you saw Poppy again. I know he had a huge grin on his face seeing you! Please kiss him and give him our love. We love you and miss you so much already! You were truly an inspiration of grace, love, and acceptance. Love you more then you know! 😘❤️

Sorry for the loss. Still remember the good times we had in scouting in Covington. We have a grandson in the Atlanta area (Sandy Springs).
