Darlene Grell, 56 of Windfall died at 8:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at IU Health – Tipton Hospital.  She was born in Tipton on February 15, 1962 to Jack & Linda (Miller) Brumley.

Darlene was a nurse, working at Miller’s Merry Manor until 2015.  She was a graduate of Tri-Central High School, Class of 1980, and the School of Practical Nursing.

She is survived by her mother, Linda Moss, Tipton; two children, Jason Glenn Groves, Windfall and Krystalyn Stucker and husband Chris, Windfall; one sister, Brenda Nilson and husband Ken, Michigan and one brother, Jackson  Brumley, Windfall; three grandchildren, Brendon Groves,  Elizabeth Stucker and Noah Stucker.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Jack Brumley and one sister, Kathy Guffey.

A graveside service for Darlene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9 at Fairview Cemetery with burial to follow.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial contributions in memory of Darlene may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 105, Northfield, Illinois, 60093.

  1. Sending thoughts and prayers to everyone through this difficult time. Darlene was a big part of my life in my teenage years. She was always there for me when I needed advice about anything. Jay and Krysta you were her entire world as well as her grandkids. Much love to the family

    I was so sorry to hear of Darlene’s passing. Darlene and I go way back to working together in Cicero Ind to Millers in Tipton. I know her mother Linda and daughter and I worked with all of them a5 Millers. She was a grest work buddy that I respected very much. My condolences to her Mother Linda and cl8se family.
