Eleanor J. Ley, 90 of Claypool, Indiana and formerly of Sharpsville and Tipton, died at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake.  She was born on March 31, 1929 in Tipton County to Howard & Lula (Smith) Dewitt.  On August 30, 1968 she married Harold A. Ley and he survives.

Eleanor was a nurse and had worked at Tipton County Memorial Hospital and the Tipton Clinic.  She was also a homemaker for her family.  Eleanor had attended Windfall Christian Church before moving North where she attended Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.  She was a graduate of Sharpsville High School and received her nurses training in Kokomo.  Eleanor liked to sew, quilt and bake and she was a very good cook.

Survivors besides her husband of 51 years, Harold, include one son, Michael K. Hamilton, Kokomo; two grandsons, Kyle Hamilton and wife Carrie and Kevin Hamilton and wife Lindsay; one great-granddaughter, Olivia.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Hamilton and one sister, Jean Grimme.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Troke presiding.  Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
