Janet J. Gillihan, 83 of rural Kempton passed away at 3:22 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Riverview Health, Noblesville Hospital.  Janet was born in Denver, Colorado on November 1, 1938 to William I. & Leora D. (Elsner) Olkjer.  She married Bill L. Gillihan in 1956 and he preceded her in death in October 2004.  Janet’s last job was working at the Wal-Mart photo center.

Janet was a past member of the Nashville, Indiana Lions Club.  She was a very talented person, enjoying several craft hobbies.

Survivors include her son, Kelly D. Gillihan and wife Teresa of Kempton; siblings Lauralee Burdick of St. George, Utah and Willa Olkjer of Gresham, Oregon.  Janet also has 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three sons, Gene C. Gillihan, Michael L. Gillihan, Shannon D. Gillihan and one brother, Richard W. Olkjer.

It was Janet’s wish to be cremated and that no formal services are held.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the Gillihan family with her arrangements.
