Kay Annitta (Hollingsworth) Burns, 81 of Tipton died at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Riverview Health in Noblesville.  She was born on November 26, 1936 in Howard County to Keith and Rosemary (Jordan) Hollingsworth.  Kay married Howard D. Burns from Akron, Indiana on December 3, 1955 and moved to Tipton in 1963.

Kay was a graduate of Akron High School, Class of 1954.  She worked in Tipton for the County Clerk’s office, Bud Holmes attorney’s office and Holland Insurance where she retired.  She was very active in her church and attended many activities including Teen Blast youth group, Bible studies and women’s outings.

She is survived by her husband Howard, sons Phillip W. Burns and wife Sandy of Beech Grove and Jeff A. Burns and wife Bridget of Westfield; a brother Walter Hollingsworth; a brother-in-law, Richard Neff, Nappanee; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Karel Evangeline (Hollingsworth) Neff.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7 at Oasis Church with Pastor Kim Drake presiding.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Teen Blast (teenblast.org/donate), leading young people to Christ one teen at a time, or Oasis Community Church, 600 Fairgrounds Road, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

    Kay was a wonderful, caring person. She was always good to my parents (Hugh and Loretta Little) and myself. I have good memories of Kay and Oasis. She is missed.
