  1. You could never have a truer friend. We’d been joking since the early 1970’s about how he’d be reciting poetry at MY funeral. He was an artist, skilled at not only painting but fashioning small menageries of tin foil animals to amuse his friends. “Plato” was the kind of man we all should want to emulate. I know he’s reunited with his beloved Sharon for all eternity,

  2. Larry (aka: Plato) was the kindest, gentlest person I ever met in my entire life. He was a very talented artist, gifted chess player and possessed incredible all around intelligence. The world is an emptier place without him.

  3. Larry you will be missed by me and sons. Alot of years since we worked together but you meant the world . You were the kindness man and artist. My wedding cake you made every rose with love over and over again just to be perfect for me. My sons adored you and your gifts …thanks for being my friend. Say hi to sharon …

  4. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother-in-law than Larry. He was a good husband to my sister and a good friend. He was my rock when my parents passed; I don’t know how I could have gone through that without him. May God find a place for his gentle soul beside him in Heaven.

  5. Plato has been a wonderful friend for five decades, since my freshman year at Indiana University. I still look back with a smile about playing the card game hearts in the dorm after class.. His artistic skills were special, and three of the Christmas decorations he created hang on my tree every year.. I know that as we grow older we will lose our friends, but some losses leave a bigger void than others. I will miss Plato very, very much.

I met Larry Lee “Plato” Norris in college as students. From the very first time we met he was open and welcome. In some ways he had a hand at helping me make that transition and stay around to finish with a degree. I spent a large portion of my first final week in his dorm room learning to drink coffee and studying. He was talented in all facets of art such as painting, drawing and pottery. Later in life he attempted to share this love with children. He had a large loving heart and a forgiving gentle soul. Larry gave of his self and deserved more than he received. I was blessed to share a small part of my life with him in it. I will miss knowing he is there with his beagle dog and hearig that familiar “hello Joe Joe” when he answered the phone.. The world is an emptier and less kind place without him.
