Margaret Ann Small, 88 of Tipton died at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born in Tetersburg on December 19, 1930 to Earl Thomas Townsend and Georgia Pauline (Robinson) Townsend McNew.  She had previously lived in Somerset, Kentucky and Kokomo.

Margaret had worked as a Teacher’s Aide, retiring from Pettit Park School in Kokomo.  She was a member of Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville and was active in a sorority, loved family gatherings, and enjoyed spending time with her friends.  She also enjoyed traveling and shopping.

She is survived by three sons, Glenn Allen Small and wife Helen, Somerset, Kentucky, James Earl Small, Kokomo and Stanley Wayne Small and wife Shelia, Kewanna, Indiana; two sisters, Mary Katherine Pratt, Washington, Indiana and Debra Kay Bennington, Tipton; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Eugene Small, a daughter, Vicky Lynn Bontrager, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Margaret will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Nafziger presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Margaret’s honor may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation, 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN, 46204.

    Margaret and I were good friends in school and I spent many grest times with gp her family. I was happy to reconnect with her at one of our H.S class reunions
