To the Lett Family, Steve, and Tom,
We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Your are in our thoughts and prayers.

  3. Mike was a wonderful man and will be missed by all of us at NIFS. He was always so happy and positive about things and ready for a laugh. I always called him “the best pure shooter at NIFS” and he got a chuckle out of it. He really could shoot a basketball and rarely missed from 15 feet. He was a good golfer, too. John, he was so proud of you and loved you deeply. My sincere condolences for his life on earth to end.

  5. To the Lett family from Jim Harpe and family..
Please accept our condolences for your loss. I played lot
of basketball with Mike and he was an all around great
    person..

  6. It was always a joy to watch Mike play basketball… what talent and great personality! I saw him briefly at our last class reunion and he had the same positive, fun way about him. I am so so sad for all of you…,

  7. I grew up two doors down from the Lett family, and in my opinion they were some of the finest people I have ever known. Mike was always solid as a rock and although I was much closer in age to Tommy (who at that time in my life I considered my best friend) Mike was always ready to include me in his world and made me feel like a friend rather than a little kid nuisance. His parents and brothers were always proud of him and his accomplishments. He was voted the prettiest legs in Tipton High School at one point and we all got a big bell laugh from that. Steve and Tommy, you will be in our thoughts and prayers and I am so sorry Mike is gone. He will be missed by all, but is in a much better place now. Lets not look at his passing as in the past, but more for in our future….because we will see him again someday and we will all shoot baskets in the side drive way until it gets too dark to see. Best regards……….Ronnie, Jennifer and Konor Shoup

  8. Mike was a best childhood friend, and a great high school teammate. I have so many fond memories for Mike, Steve, Tom, Emmy and Bob. Peace be with you alll.

I’m a former student of Mr. Lett, he taught math at IPS school 61 Clarence Farrington while I was there. He was the coolest, most genuine teacher that left a lasting impression on me, so much so, that I recognized him at a basketball game two and a half years ago at Southport High School. When I noticed him I said “Mr. Lett” and he responded with, “that’s me” haha. We sat and talked the entire game just catching up about life, how things had been going and of course basketball. Lastly, we took a picture afterwards and I am very glad we decided to because that picture has more meaning now that Mr. Lett has passed on. I sincerely hope that peace will be upon all of his family and friends. Much love Mr. Lett!! You were always good to me. Rest easy.

Deeply saddened to hear this, I was lucky enough to know Mike from my time going to Nifs and seeing him out and about in Avon.
We’d often shoot baskets and talk about life – he always greeted me with a smile and was just was positive as they come. I’ll never forget the laughs, his wonderful spirit and how just a simple conversation with him could turn my whole day around. A great man! Wishing his family well.
