Patricia Ann Tebbe, 80 of Tipton, IN died peacefully Sunday, December 4, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Elwood, IN on January 15, 1942 to John C. and Eva (Johannes) Funke.  She married Norbert Tebbe on February 1, 1964, spending 58 years together.

Patricia graduated from the St. Joseph Academy in Tipton and furthered her education at the St. Vincent School of Nursing in Indianapolis.  She graduated with her Registered Nursing degree.  This began her long career in the medical field.  She provided excellent care for over 45 years to patients at the Tipton County Memorial Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Elwood.  She was a member of the Indiana Nursing Association.

She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton, IN.  Her love of family was paramount.  She greatly enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s activities.  Around the home she spent time baking, gardening, and sewing; skills she passed along to her children.

Survivors include her husband, Norbert of Tipton, IN; children, Sharon Hoffbeck and husband Mark of Macomb, IL, Laura Newby and husband Jim of Jackson, MI, Lisa Schwinn and husband Rodney of Summitville, IN, and Matt Tebbe and wife Tami of Tipton, IN.  Grandchildren include Michael Hoffbeck (Ashley), Maureen Heitmeier (Cale), Nathan Hoffbeck (girl friend Peyton Tinker), Ray Sabourin (Brittani), Geoffrey Sabourin (girl friend Holly Michel), Abbi Moore (Brice), Andrew Schwinn (Morgan), Jonathon Tebbe (fiancé Renee Bronnenberg), and Alex Tebbe; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Bowen Sabourin, Truitt Moore; and step great-grandchildren, Hayden, Rylee and Gracie Heitmeier.  Two sisters, Elizabeth Ortman and Mary Lou Brauer and a brother, John “Dick” Funke also survive.

Pat was preceded in death by brothers, Jerome, Theodore, and Donald and brothers-in-law, Virgil Scheidler, Paul Brauer, and Raymond Ortman.

A mass of Christian burial will occur on Friday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Nursing Honor Guard Ceremony followed by the Rosary Prayers. Visitation will conclude at 8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072 to benefit the restoration and installation of the pipe organ into the new church building.
