Victor Randy Wolfgang
Victor Randy Wolfgang, 72 of Tipton died Friday, November 25, 2022 at I.U. Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Marion, Indiana on August 10, 1950 to Vic and Ruthanna (Newby) Wolfgang. Randy married Rita Jo Harper on December 22, 1972. She preceded him in death on February 5, 1993.
Randy was very involved in the community. He owned and operated the John Deere implement business in Tipton. He was a graduate of Montpelier High School in 1968 where he excelled in basketball and was an inductee into the High School Basketball Hall of Fame. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. His love of Purdue continued throughout the years.
Randy was a devoted family man. His focus was on his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Kemp United Methodist Church in Tipton. His love of the outdoors was evident as he would often hike and camp in several places. One of his favorites was the Isle Royale National Park in Michigan’s Lake Superior, which he hiked with his brother Rich five times for an average of 67 miles per trip. He also really enjoyed the trip he took to Israel. He was an avid golfer, finding 18 holes to be a good recipe for the day. Randy also served his country in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his children, Amy Wolfgang of Tipton and Ian Wolfgang and wife Kasie of Fishers. Randy enjoyed his three grandchildren, Morgan, Kyler and Crandon Wolfgang. Siblings include Richard (Arlene) Wolfgang of Lagro, Indiana, Howard (Susan) Wolfgang of Hartford City and Harold (Cynthia) Wolfgang of Marion, Indiana. He is also survived by longtime companion Carolyn Johnson and her children Megan and Andrea.
Randy was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Eldon Wolfgang.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday December 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kemp United Methodist Church. Rev. Byron Kaiser will preside. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Thinking of you all. So sorry for your loss. Though we haven’t kept in touch much over the years, we had some good times and made great memories! Randy was a good cuz! He was an excellent player and an even
greater person … always a polite & caring
Christian man.
