Ralph Endicott
Ralph Endicott, 67 of Kokomo died at 11:54 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on October 15, 1951 in Tipton, Indiana to Charles “Pat” Duncan Endicott & Frances Joan (Stevens) Endicott.
Ralph worked at Irving Materials Incorporated in Kokomo, Plainfield Ready Mix, and Blue Star Redi Mix. He retired from Blue Star Redi Mix. Ralph also worked at Salsbery Farms hauling grain. He was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. Ralph graduated from Hamilton Heights High School class of 1970. While in high school he was on the wrestling team and was three time CIC wrestling champion. He also played drums in the high school band.
Ralph proudly served our country stating that it was his honor to serve in the United States Army and the National Guard. He served in the United States Army as a Truck Driver with the 301st Transportation Company. Ralph attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY; Fort Dix, New Jersey; Fort Ord, California and Germany. While serving, he received a Letter of Commendation for his outstanding work highlighting his enthusiastic, energetic, soldierly, and exceptionally positive attitude setting him far above his contemporaries. In 1975 Ralph received a Letter of Appreciation from the Headquarters VII Corps Special Troops Battalion. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the 1st Battalion Airborne 509th Infantry, Battalion Combat Team at Hohenfels Training Area while serving in Germany for his outstanding performance of duty. Ralph finished off his service as a SP4 64C30 with an Honorable Discharge. Following his service to the United States Army Ralph also served in the National Guard for several years.
After his service in the Army Ralph bought his 1st Harley Davidson without even seeing it. He purchased a 1977 SuperGlide Shovelhead that he rode as often as possible. Ralph aka “Squat” was passionate about motorcycle safety and was a member of American Bikers Aimed toward Education (ABATE) serving as a Tipton County Representative. Ralph loved to attend flat track motorcycle races. He attended every Springfield, Illinois and Lima, Ohio race for the last 30 years, only missing two races, and even though he wasn’t able to attend the most recent Lima race in person he was able to watch it thanks to Gary and Terri Smith streaming it live for him in the hospital.
Ralph loved traveling the country on his motorcycle. He would load his motorcycle with his tent and all things needed and would take off with either his family or friends or even by himself. Ralph was known as “Rand McNally” because he was able to direct you whatever direction you needed to go.
Ralph also enjoyed spending time playing chess, hide and seek, wrestling, taking his grandkids on motorcycle rides and supporting his grandkids at their sporting activities. He attended every single tennis match his granddaughter played her senior year riding his motorcycle and he became known as ”ScoreBoard Endicott”.
He is survived by former wife and companion, Peggy Endicott, Kokomo, his daughter, Morgan E. Maxwell and husband Jammie, Lebanon; siblings, Carlyon Sue Shirley and husband Jerry Lee Shirley, Tipton, Sammy Dale Endicott, Muncie, Deborah Kay Bowlby and husband Bradley, Tipton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Frances Endicott Jr. and his parents. Ralph is also survived by grandchildren, Emma E. Biddle, Noah J. Maxwell, and Brittany A. Maxwell; step-great-grandchildren, Aubrey A. Morgan; honorary grandchild, Ethan M. May; former step-grandchildren, Jolen Harris, Jaclyn Harris, Trey Oliver, Blake Allen, Kelsey Allen, Dean Bass, and Brandon Bass; step-great-grandchildren, Braxton, Evelyn, and Elora Allen, Aria Bass.
Funeral services for Ralph will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 18 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Brown presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery in Marion with military honors at 2:00 p.m. after his funeral.
The family would like for everyone to wear Harley attire during Ralph’s visitation, funeral, and grave side service. Instead of sending flowers, the family would like donations made to Random Act of Flowers, 1057 East 54th St. Suite F, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46220.
Ralph, SQUAT, was always a good friend to John and I, and this breaks our hearts. Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
RIP Squat! Ride high. You will be missed.
Ralph was a great man I known him since early 80s when driving a concrete truck with me at beavers back in the early 80s he will be missed I will miss you Ralph a real good friend God bless his family

Ralph, my ex-brother-in-law, was a devoted father of my niece, Morgan. I appreciated and will continue to appreciate Ralph here and after. Ralph visited me in the Chicago area (where I live) a couple of times. One time, we met up at a truck stop as he was passing through. Another time he drove to our home to visit. I am grateful to have known him, He will be missed.
Miss you Uncle will carry the memories we shared for rest of my life.
Wrestling with me when I was a kid, camping, motorcycle races we attended together, and the motorcycle trips we took and most of all the talks on the phone and visit.
Love you Uncle never forgotten, when I ride you’ll be riding in my heart.
