Glenn R. Long, Jr. 64 of Tipton peacefully died at his residence on Tuesday morning August 22, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 9, 1959 to Glenn and Wanda (Nance) Long. He is survived by his significant other, Sharon Stohler with whom he spent several years.

Glenn was a machinist for Integrity EDM. He was proud of his Christian values. He was a biker through and through. Glenn enjoyed the long trips he took on his Harley Davidson motorcycle with family and friends and just completed a ride a few weeks ago of over 300 miles with Mark Mader and Cathy Coan. He was devoted to his country, serving in the United States Navy. If you knew Glenn, then you probably had the opportunity to hear him play his drums at least a few times.

Glenn’s family held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his daughter Natasha Long (Ronnie Watson) of Tipton and son John Long (Meghan Reed) of Arcadia and their mother Penny Buchanan. Other children include John Gaddis (Chrissy Paris) of Westfield, Craig Standridge of Elwood, Emily Kocher of Anderson, Shaun (Monica) Kocher of Anderson and Breydon Ball. Siblings include Ron (Debbie) Long of Kokomo, Sue (John) Brooks of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Judy Birge (Albert Ratcliff) of Russiaville, David Long of Tipton and Robert Long of Tipton. Glenn’s grandchildren include Landon Bachman, Robert Songer III, Makenzie Reed, Madilynn Long, Karly Hougay, Amiah, Schuylar and Maliah Kocher and Jordan and Lucas Gaddis. Glenn has several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Rocky A. Long.

A memorial service led by the family will be held on Friday, September 1, at 7:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time.

Glenn’s family would like those attending the service to wear bright colored clothing and to not wear black.
