William Lewis “Bill” Wanner, 55 of Tipton passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Indiana University Health, Indianapolis. He was born on April 23, 1968 to Albert Lewis & Rita Mae (Cole) Wanner.

Bill started his high school career at Tipton High School but graduated from Desoto County High School of Arcadia, Florida. After high school, he attended Texas Central College and Oakland City University.

Bill loved his county and served as Military Police Officer in the United States Army and United States Navy before retiring. After retiring from the military, he enlisted in the Indiana National Guard where he continued to serve as a Military Police officer. Bill also continued his life of helping others in need, serving his community with the Hendricks County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff and the Pittsboro Community as a Police Officer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion, and Masonic Lodge. In his free time Bill loved to watch a Denver Broncos game or NASCAR race.
He is survived by his daughter, Audrey Rose Wanner of Whitestown, Indiana. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rita.

Graveside services for Bill will be on Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

  2. You life was cut way to short Bill! We all made so many memories growing up and then you left to serve our country. As it’s been said many times Thank you for your service!! Thank you for all the time of caring and giving to others. Our heart are broken that your gone but we are at peace that you know longer have pain!! Fly high and I look forward to that big hug again someday❣️
