Janie Hinds, 72 of Windfall passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side.  She was born on October 27, 1950 in Elwood, Indiana to Bill & Betty (McCorkle) Vanhorn.  On November 13, 1971 she married Mike Hinds and he survives.  The couple enjoyed 52 years of marriage together.

She retired from Delco Electronics in 2005.  Janie graduated from Windfall High School class of 1968. She was a master gardener and loved her flowers.  Janie was a proud grandmother, her face would light up and her heart would fill with joy when her grandkids were around.

Janie is survived by her husband Mike; a daughter, Andee Sznewajs and husband Matt of Edina, Minnesota; a sister, Julie Quinn and husband Tom of Russiaville and grandchildren, Sophia, Will, and Ben.

    My heart sank when I received the notice of Janie’s passing . Our lives grew the same time period , birth , graduation, marriage and
    children . We shared stories when we did get to see each other . Janie was a very special woman and her family was her life along with Mike , he was number one of course !

    I grew up the little tag along sister of Linda’s love bothering Janie and Linda, but Janie was always so sweet to me. I was so sad to hear of her passing I’m so sorry for your loss. Linda and her are both in Heaven now probably having a good time .

    So sorry to here about Janie. I always enjoyed giving her such a hard time! I could seem to either make her laugh or embarrass her!! Either way, it always made my day seeing her. She was a great lady, My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
