Louie Moss
Louie Moss, 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in Anderson. Louie was born in Celina, Tennessee, on August 20, 1952, to Buford and Hattie (Strong) Moss.
Louie would brighten any room he walked into with his easy-going attitude, jokes, and one-liners. Louie was a lifelong musician who got his first guitar at age 9. There wasn't an instrument he picked up that he couldn't play. He played gigs most weekends and toured and recorded with several bands. In the last years of his life, he often wrote personalized songs for his friends and entertained them with impromptu solo shows.
Louie is survived by two sons, Troy Moss and wife Lori and their sons, Dreagon and Gryphon Moss; and Chad Moss. His surviving brothers are Junior Moss, Willard Moss, and Willie Turner Moss. He was preceded in death by his sister, Iva Mae Perrin, brothers, Colvin Lee Moss, Delbert Ray Moss, Elbert Jay Moss, and Dillard Harrison Moss.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 28 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, located at 216 W Jefferson St, Tipton, Indiana. A graveside service officiated by Pastor Dewey Moss will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
Junior, Sorry to hear of the passing of your brother Louie. I had not seen him in years. Another Hobbs School Alum is gone. My Prayers are with you and his family. RIP Louie!
I met Louie here at Longfellow Plaza and he was friendly and told jokes to me. He played his guitar also. He was a great person to be around. I’m going to miss him and see him riding his scooter with his flags on it. R.I.P Louie
