Georgia A. Koors

 -

Georgia Anne (Badgley) Koors, 80 of Tipton died at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home with her family by her side.  Georgia was born in Tipton on July 29, 1939 to Charles “Bud” & Virginia (Carmine) Badgley.  She married Donald “Duck” Koors on December 31, 1955 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2014.

Georgia had worked as a nurse aide at Holtsclaw Nursing Home and Tipton County Memorial Hospital and as a cook at several local restaurants.  She was an avid Pacer fan and IU sports fan, especially IU Basketball.  Georgia also loved her boys and grandkids sports.  She liked Elvis and Bee Gees’ music and loved eating at Friendly’s Restaurant in Elwood and she herself was a great cook and baker.  Georgia liked spending the holidays with her family.  She truly had a heart of gold!

Survivors include two sons, Randy Koors of Tipton and Ron Koors and wife Janice of Brownsburg; two brothers, Pat Badgley and Mike Badgley and wife Judy, and one sister, Jeanie Green, all of Tipton; two grandchildren, Paige Koors and Cassie Galley and husband Nick.  She also has one great-granddaughter on the way.  The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Debbie Harpe for the great care she gave Georgia; she was like the daughter she never had.

Georgia’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Aaron Hogue presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from Noon – 2:00 p.m. Monday.
