Greg Wagoner

 -

Greg “Papa” Wagoner 64 of Tipton died Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on April 13, 1958 to Omar and Arlene (Morris) Wagoner. Greg married Toni Carter Fenn on June 18, 2004.

After high school, Greg enlisted in the army, serving his country. He was a hard working man, retiring a few years ago from ELSA in Elwood where he operated warehouse equipment. After retiring, he joined the grounds crew at the Tipton Golf Course. This enabled him to be around the sport he loved and only added to his enthusiasm to be outdoors.

Sports were a large part of Greg’s life. He was a Reds and Commanders fan. He enjoyed his Harley Davison motorcycle trips around the area and he had a love of classic rock music. He could often be found on the back porch, relaxing and listening to the radio. Greg would follow the NASCAR events and spent time rooting for his favorite driver. Anyone who knew Greg would say his love of family was evident. He greatly enjoyed his children and grandchildren and their activities.

Survivors include his wife, Toni, children Amanda Jean Holloway and husband Chad of Tipton, Jeff Alan Wagoner of Kokomo, Betsy Retherford and husband Kyle of Fishers, and Dustin Fenn and wife Katrina of Kokomo. Grandchildren include Carl, Sophie, Charlie, Harper, Colton, Jocelyn, Jordan, Owen, Sophie, Henry and Nevaeh. Greg’s siblings include Kathy Mills and husband Art of Gillette, Wyoming and Chris Wagoner of Detroit, Michigan. His special pets are Sassy, Karma and Brewski.

The family would like to have a casual time to remember Greg this Saturday, April 15, at the Tipton Park. A celebration of his life will take place at 1:00 at the gazebo with the Tipton American Legion and the U.S. Army conducting military rites. The family will continue the service with meaningful accounts of his life. The family invites friends to gather at noon and visit prior the service. Please bring your own chair.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tipton Humane Society, P.O. Box 237, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to assist the Wagoner family in their time of need.
