Joseph E. Tucker, 61, of Tipton died at 7:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Riverview Health in Noblesville.  He was born July 21, 1959 in Tipton to Lex and Barbara (Goar) Tucker, who preceded him in death.

A 1978 graduate of Tipton High School, Joe began his tool making career as an apprentice to his dad Lex at Service, Tool, and Die in Kokomo.  Joe was owner of Lex Tooling LLC in Tipton since 1998.  He had been a member of the Tipton Elks Lodge #1012 where he was a past exalted ruler.  Joe was also a supporter of local teams and charities.  Joe enjoyed golf, bowling, trains, and loved and supported his family in all that he did. He especially loved the Christmas season.

He is survived by his three siblings, Julia Wallyn and husband Gary, Kokomo, Jim Tucker, Tipton, and Janet Woods, Tipton.  Joe is also survived by a niece, Lisa Wallyn of Plymouth, and three nephews, Michael Wallyn and wife MacKenzie of Lafayette, Grant Woods of New York, NY, and Blake Woods of Bloomington.

Joe’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with his brother, Rev. Jim Tucker presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Tipton Elks Lodge #1012 will conduct an Elks memorial service starting at 2:00.  Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Proper wearing of masks or face coverings as well as social distancing will be required at the funeral home. The funeral will be live streamed and also recorded for watching later on Joe’s obituary page at www.young-nichols.com where condolences may be left for his family.

Memorial contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8604 Allisonville Road, Suite 140, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46250 or the John Rickenbach Scholarship, c/o Tipton Elks, P.O. Box 98, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

  1. My condolences go out to all Joe’s family and many friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew this fine man.

  2. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe’s family and friends. I got to know Joe through my brothers and going to the bowling alley years back and hanging out. He also was kind and always donated to Huntington’s disease charity walks and other huntington events. He was such a sweet guy. I know he was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

  4. Thoughts and prayers to the family of Joe Tucker. Joe was a great guy. I haven’t seen him probably since graduation, but I have great high school memories of Joe, especially in band. He always had a smile and a kind word for you. So sorry to hear of his early death! RIP Joe!!

  5. There aren’t enough words to sum up all that Joe meant to his family, friends, and community. His sense of humor, smile, and laugh will be sorely missed. The world has dimmed, but Heaven shines brighter as Joe is welcomed home. God Bless the family- especially his siblings, Julie, Janet, & Jim.   14. Saddened to hear about Joe passing. Joe, I’m going to miss seeing you at Lex Tooling. You were a customer first, that turned into a friend. I’ll miss all the jokes and jabs that we had back-n-forth. You were one helluva guy that was always there to help anyone in need. My condolences to the Tucker family.   15. I’m very sorry to read that Joe has passed away. It comes as a complete shock. I had no idea. It’s been a year or so since I talked to him last. I’m sorry I missed his service. Dad and I would have been there if we would have known of this. If Janet could text me at 765-513-4400 when it is convenient. I would like to talk to her.. Once again I am so sorry….
