Connie Jo Wallpe, 93 of Tipton died Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Waters of Tipton.  She was born in Tipton on July 17, 1930 to Cornelius Jackson Fox and Nedra (Shaw) Fox.  She married Francis Wallpe and he preceded her in death.

Connie was well known in the art world.  Her focus was on art, the creation of pieces and the promotion of this important part of culture.  She was a founder of the Tipton Art Guild.  She had memberships in the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Indianapolis Hoosier Salon.  She has works in hundreds of private collections across the United States and Europe as well as corporate works in Indiana.  Her love of the field was apparent as she taught numerous students the finer points of being an artist and assisted them with their development and love of art.

Connie will be sadly missed by so many. She was a lovely person and a very talented artist. I own several of her wonderful pieces of art, including several Batik works.

So sorry to hear of Connie’s passing. She was a gifted artist and mentor to many. She was all about encouraging art and artists of all ages. Our loss is heaven’s gain! May she rest in peace.

  3. I was so sad to hear of Connie’s passing. She and my mother were classmates and great friends, and I took private art lessons and she was an amazing mentor and friend. Connie had me join the Tipton Art Guild while I was back in Elwood caring for my dad. I’m so lucky and blessed to have known her and am fortunate to own 3 of her paintings.

  4. I’ve known Connie since I was a little girl. Her in-laws lived in our upstairs apartment. My sister, Barb Klopp, and I spent a lot of time with Steve and Julie when we were kids. Years later, we enjoyed seeing Connie and Mrs. Regnier at Jim Dandy every time we went in. Much love to Connie’s family and many friends. ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss Jason. I adored your Mom, she was so good to all us neighborhood kids.
My daughter even took lessons from her!
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
